What is the IF:Gathering? It’s a gathering of women to watch the livestream or videos of IF:Gathering which was held in February in Texas. The livestream was hosted in over 25 countries at over 3,000 locations--including 600 college events. Why gather?Gathering is special. It’s set apart. But it’s not the end in itself. We gather becausewe believe that it is a spark for life on life discipleship to happen all year.
At Trinity Church, this year, we will be gathering in homes throughout our city to watch the livestream that has been previously recorded. We'll meet from 1:30 pm until 8 pm and then combine at in the sanctuary for a special dessert, worship, and a sendoff message. There will be giveaways for a few and one unique gift for everyone. This will be a significant time to respond to what God is doing to build His Kingdom through our church. Please join us.

The Prayer Gatherings are designed for individuals and families (even children!) to come together to pray for Trinity. Rather than praying through a list of individual needs, areas are designated in the sanctuary with general topics. Each topic uses a different form of prayer (from silent meditation to praying aloud with others) to help everyone connect with God and effectively intercede for our church and community. Each prayer area also includes simple prayers for families or children to use (or to help guide their prayers), as well as a simple activity that both adults and children can do. The activities are meant to prayerfully reinforce the prayer topic.
The goal of the Prayer Gatherings is threefold: to help those who come to connect with Jesus, to inspire everyone at Trinity to “devote” themselves to prayer (Acts 2:42 and 6:4), and to provide an opportunity to learn and practice different forms of prayer (such as praying Scripture).
In Luke 19, we see Jesus entering the temple and chasing out those who were selling things, saying, "It is written: 'And my house shall be a House of Prayer, but you have made it a robber's den!'" Jesus didn't say, "My house shall be a house of worship," although worship is important. He didn't say, "A house of Scripture," although that's important too. He said, "My house shall be a House of Prayer."
But what does that mean? What does a "House of Prayer" look like?
Prayer can be a difficult thing. Even the disciples asked, "Lord, teach us to pray." On Wednesday, July 31st, we will have our next all-church Prayer Gathering at Trinity. We will have tables placed around the sanctuary. At each table, there will be an opportunity to pray for the needs of our church community. There will a place to pray for our pastors, another for our children, and others for our church's other needs. At the same time, we will be exploring what it might look like to be a House of Prayer.
Please join us as together we ask, "Lord, teach us to pray!"
